BIG disappointment
Last year's yearbooks. We got ours yesterday. They suck- big time. I couldn't make re-takes last October, so my yearbook picture is that of my FRESHMAN year, not my sophomore year, not even some random picture from THIS year, but my FRESHMAN picture. Besides my freshman picture, I appear ONCE in the entire yearbook (nearly 200 pages, with only around 600 students to fill it) and it's on the page my best friend designed. Had it been anyone else coordinating the homecoming page, I wouldn't have been on ANY page, ANYwhere.
But this yearbook's shittiness goes way deeper than just me:
The Doughnut Club got an entire page summary + pictures.
The Book Club, Writers' Club, and Actors' Factory didn't even get name-drops. NOTHING.
The fall play, Snow Angel, got two full pages of pictures + summary + cast/crew list. It was easily the shittiest play O'Hara has ever produced.
The spring musical, Suessical the Musical; the highlight of my year and that of many, many others; what was called by many the "best show O'Hara has put on in years;" got two full pages, all right. Two pages, with a total of six pictures. Pictures of small characters. Sorry if you haven't seen the show, but the Cat in the Hat [narrator- in every scene], Horton the Elephant [main character], and the Bird Girls [the seven most important singing parts]: not pictured AT ALL. No summary. No cast list. The only words on the page say, "Oh the thinks you can think," "Suessical," and "Directed by Tom Hardy and Patrick Inlow." That's IT.
The last one I'm going to bring up (though definately not the last problem I had with it) is Prom. My good friend, Daryl Killian, was named Prom Queen this year. This was a monumental occassion for many people. She is not one of those tall, skinny, blond cheerleader-types. Far from it, actually. She a NORMAL human being. She fits in with MY friends, not those stuck up, rich, "A-listers." Yeah. She was not even pictured on the Prom page. Now THAT is fucked up.
I'm done ranting for now, but I have not said everything I feel about this yearbook.
