This sucks.
1. I worked yesterday from 2-10:30, I work today from 2-9:30, and I work tomorrow from 4-10:30. I tried to work something out with my boss, but she said it looked irresponsible for me to ask for time off so soon after I got hired. My mother is in the hospital, for Christ's sake. I'm not able to visit my own mom at all because of this stupid job and I am being irresponsible by wanting to. So now, I can add this to the list of things that suck: my boss is a bitch and I'm probably on some kind of probation for trying to call in for tomorrow. Our store just recently had two people quit, so they are already way short on people, and it makes me wonder what they would have done if I hadn't accepted "no" for an answer and had simply insisted that I have the day off. I'm not going to, but really, would they have fired me?
2. I am scheduled to work Sunday (9am-3pm), Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (4-10:30) next week. This is insane. Why did I have to go and get a job? I can't work those hours. I won't be awake in class and I won't be able to do my homework... Isn't school my main priority? But if my boss wouldn't let me off to visit my sick mother in the hospital, how am I supposed to handle next week? I obviously can't just tell her "no," but I can't do it. I just can't. What can I do? If I quit my job this early, no one else will want to hire me. I really don't know what to do... Some advice? Please?

Who says you have to tell these other jobs that you quite after a week or two? I would never ever ever put Funhouse Pizza as a reference on my apps, and you don't have to put Walgreens. Sure, you may not have any experience listed, but you also won't have a negative reference. Just don't tell them that you quit a job and make sure you find a job that can suit your hours. And you should apply to U.S. Toy. They have great hours, they love to hire students from OHS, and they close at 8 during the week. Try it, definitely. But don't do like me and have an older brother that the hiring manager hates. -Jack
I miss you so much... and it's only been three and a half days... ugh, fuck this place. -Jack
I agree with Jack. If you're really unhappy with it, and it's not going to be possible to carry on the hours with school, you should leave and find something with better hours. And you haven't really done enough at the store to gain experience, other than the fact that your boss is a bitch. BTW, she should have let you off tomorrow, even if you did start there recently. Your mom is SO much more important than any job. I'd suggest just not going to work tomorrow and visiting your mom anyway, but that could get you fired. So don't risk it, unless it'd be worth it.
I'm thinking about you, and hoping you're okay. It sucks that this is happening so close to your birthday, since this is turning out to be a rather shitty present. Love you, Michelle. Everything will turn out alright in the end. Promise.
Yeah, you quit that mother fucking job! Part-times are not for us. We need to figure this out quick so we can get started with the rest of our lives. Fuck part-time jobs, they suck ass. I'm dying to see you. -Jack
